The following issues might be encountered in the latest General and Beta releases.
Graphical images for templates
Not every template has an image indicating its parts. These will be added in the next General Release.
Placing a PEM
When placing a PEM or screw, if you click any tool, the items are placed and shown in the 3D View exactly as if you had clicked the Accept & Close button, but those items are not accepted, quoted or saved.
Unable to select a Path line
When using the Path tool, if you click two points on a face and then press <Esc>, a Placement Warning is displayed, with the option to Accept or Reject the line. Currently, the only selection you should make is Reject. If you click Accept, you will not be able to select or delete the line. If you already did this, to fix the problem open the Part tree, expand each item until you find the offending line, and delete it using the Delete or Backspace key.
Installing Designer on a Mac OSX Mountain Lion
If you receive an error message that ProtocaseDesigner is damaged and can't be opened and that you should move it to the Trash, it is because Protocase Designer has not been registered with Apple. To resolve this problem, do the following and then install:
- In System Preferences > Security & Privacy, set Allow applications downloaded from: to "Anywhere".
- Click the lock icon in the bottom left corner that reads "Click the lock to make changes."
- Start Protocase Designer.
- Once Designer is running, reset the Apple system security in step 1 to "Mac App Store and identified developers".
- Note that you need to do this before any Designer installion (new installation or upgrade).
