Known Issues
Error message when installing Protocase Designer on a Mac OSX Mountain Lion
If you receive an error message that ProtocaseDesigner is damaged and can't be opened and that you should move it to the Trash, it is because Protocase Designer has not been registered with Apple. Register Protocase Designer with Apple as follows:
- In System Preferences > Security & Privacy, set Allow applications downloaded from: to "Anywhere".
- Click the lock icon in the bottom left corner that reads "Click the lock to make changes."
- Start Protocase Designer.
- Once Designer is running, reset the Apple system security in step 1 to "Mac App Store and identified developers".
Software Fixes Released
Erroneous "HomeDir" message
If you receive the message "HomeDir config.ReadConfig(): somedirectory", it is a software defect that was fixed in version 4.4.9-Nov10. Please upgrade your version of Protocase Designer.
Planned Enhancements
Until any of the following enhancments is added to Designer, you can add a note in your design asking for it:
- Rubber feet on enclosures
- Louvres
- Screws or welding to fasten brackets
- Hinges
Until any of the following enhancements is added to Designer, please call and talk to our technical staff to add it to your design:
- Machining
- Hybrid enclosures
